This picture was shot in Lagos at Lasalvy studios, featuring dancer, actor and director Paolo Sisiano, with makeup by Obidike Uchechukwu. Adebayo was inspired by Paolo Sisiano after seeing his performance videos online in which he embodied different characters and personalities, a project resulting from unanticipated extra free-time during the covid-19 issued lockdown. In this black and white portrait, inspired by the artistic style of 20th century fashion photographer Richard Avedon, Adebayo captures the complexity of human expression. While exploring character portrayal, this image also plays with gender expression and ideals of makeup and beauty.
