PHOTOGRAPHER: PATRICK JAMES MICHEL
As part of its creative process, the photographer Patrick James Michel spends time with the local communities. The connections he builds drive the creation of his photographs.
This image was shot in Moab, Utah, in 1998 during one of his first trips to Utah, where he spent time with ranchers. The artist who has traveled the world and met many communities and tribes leverages his mastery of photography techniques to capture the intangible enery of life. With its play on light and contrasts, one can feel the quiet dominance of the man over the horses .
