Canyon De Chelly I, Arizona, 1992
PHOTOGRAPHER: PATRICK JAMES MICHEL
This photograph was shot after many trips the French photographer Patrick James Michel made in the American West and had the opportunity to spend time with Ranchers and Native Americans.
When he came to this Canyon, the artist was deeply touched by the spiritual presence of this sacred place revered by the Navajo people. By playing with the proportions and showing a man on his horse hidden at first sight, the photographer manages to show the grandeur of the place and the importance of its heritage beyond human life.
