BOB MACKIE AND CHER
BOB MACKIE AND CHER
PHOTOGRAPHER: ROSE HARTMAN
Met Gala, 1985.
“It was at the Met Museum Costume Institute gala and I was part of the 2 to 3 photographers who were admitted inside, which was perfect as I don’t like to be directed. Cher looked very elegant that night with Bob Mackie. She was considered his muse and the designer has made most of her gowns.”
Taken during the 1985 edition of Met Museum Costume Institute Gala with the theme “Costumes of Royal India”, American Fashion and costume designer Bob Mackie and Cher make an entrance. In this image Rose Hartman captures the discreet connection between the two in a grandiose context.
