Stolen Moments: Images of Intimacy

The Selects Gallery is pleased to present a new curation exploring how photographers reveal the dynamics of intimacy and the power these images have over their viewers.

Images have the power to make us feel like voyeurs; giving us access to a scene we weren’t invited to, while being enchanted by the image and unable to look away.

In the context of winter 2021, in which we are confronted by a close intimacy with those we live with or forced to cultivate intimacy with those we love from a distance, often from behind a screen, this curation looks at how intimacy manifests in different settings and forms. It features images from internationally renowned photographers such as Antoine Verglas, Sylvie Castioni, Emmanuelle Haugel, André Carrara, Kenneth Willardt, and Paul Belaart.
