In Untitled (Shadow and Face), Paul Bellaart delivers a quietly poetic image that blurs the line between human presence and artistic abstraction. A silhouetted hand, backlit by natural light, stretches across a textile panel adorned with a minimalist line drawing of a face—recalling the contours of Picasso, Matisse, or Cocteau, yet grounded in Bellaart’s own visual lexicon of intimacy and gesture.
