This image of internationally renowned supermodel, Stephanie Seymour was taken in New York in 1989. It is part of a series shot by Antoine Verglas very early on in his career for Elle France, featuring the most famous models of the time in the confidential setting of their own apartment.
In 1989 Stephanie Seymour was 21 and right at the rise of her career. She was modeling for several high-end brands and companies and appeared in numerous issues of magazines.
The documentary-like approach mixed with private set up and the photographer’s unique laid back and warm style, known as the “Verglas Signature” makes this photograph uniquely real and intimate. It carries a very palpable feeling of comfort which makes it very sensual.
