Heather Stewart White Vera Cruz, Mexico 1990
PHOTOGRAPHER: JACQUES OLIVAR
I went to Vera Cruz, Mexico to shoot this clammy and muggy story with my so beautiful and delightful friend Heather Stewart Whitte, my friends Claude Marais, Franco Della Casa, and Claire Dupont. The weather was moist and inspiring. Just like before a storm in a tropical land. The air was thick and carrying the clear sound of the village people's voices. Dogs barking running free and the feeling that we could have stayed there forever sharing mango juice with the locals. Anyway, just another coffee before the road before moving to the next village “Boca del Rio!” The big diesel bus from Vera Cruz sounds deep and clear! The landscape through the windowpane comes out from a John Huston movie. Other times! I went to Vera Cruz cause I loved a French film with Michelle Morgan and Gerard Philipe called “Les Orgueilleux” byYves Allegret. I freaked out with this movie and told the magazine I wanted to go there. Everything was exactly the same as in the movie. Anyway, the film is a work of art and watching Gérard Philipe dancing for a bottle of tequila it's worth a look man!
