This scene is typical of Lotus’ style which often combines fashion into wild natural surroundings in attempts to find intersections between two very different forms of beauty. A woman in a vibrant and colourful ensemble poses confidently with a hand on her hip and the other reaching up to the large, majestic giraffe dominating the picture plane. They stand side by side, each with their bold outer patterns and strong presence, posing the question of who will outshine the other?
In typical Lotus style, this polished and bold image leads the viewer to question its reality, the model looks as if she has been photoshopped from a runway into the scene. Lotus in fact shot this image on location with both the giraffe and model present.
