Elyse. Los Angeles, 2005
PHOTOGRAPHER: JACQUES OLIVAR
Smoking has been more or less forbidden in fashion shoots for certain magazines. Hard times fashion photographers. It was a beautiful gesture to highlight a certain feminine subversive attitude. All the famous movie stars were smoking in the 50s movies. Remember Bacall and Bogart. Romanticism, adventures, smoky and sombre atmospheres-Fatal women. So when a model was smoking facing the camera, many stories were suddenly suggested. Then the phone became for me a fantastic storyteller in the hands of a woman. Anyway, the piration came immediately as it did with the smoke! Women had phones have got a fantastic and mysterious love affair! must add that Elyse is a fabulous actress!
