Deterioration Series 115, 1980 - 2013

PHOTOGRAPHER: ROBERT FARBER

This image is part of Robert Farber’s Deterioration Series which features photographs taken between 1977 and 1984. The deterioration is the result of the film's chemical reaction from decades of sitting in non-archival plastic sleeves, resulting in striking new imagery. Robert noticed the changes in his archives during the 1990s, and decided to stop the transformation and preserve the images in their current state in 2013. No retouching or digital manipulation has been used.
