This black and white contact sheet features the artist, English singer, musician and actor David Bowie with dyed red hair, a hat and a mustard yellow suit designed by Freddie Burretti, photographed for a magazine in Los Angeles, 1974.
David Bowie is undoubtedly the king of personal invention in fashion. For Bowie, clothing was a means of projecting self-expression, a powerful tool for communicating individuality in its most extreme, brilliant and creative form.
