Biography 

Patrick James Michel is a french multi-faceted photographer and voyager.

His work in fashion has led him to collaborate with magazines such as Vogue Hommes, GQ, Mannër Vogue, Wad, Tank, Milk, Junior, Jalouse, Elle, Marie-Claire, Rolling Stone, Trace, Condé Nast Traveller, Brutus (Japan), Izvestia (Russia), British Journal of photography.

He has worked for many major companies, concentrating on the worlds of cowboys and surfers during trips all around the world. His personal work lead him to shoot many tribes around the world. Among them, Native Americans and Shamans.

He was nominated several times as an art director & photographer for the French and European Art directors club and had several exhibitions in Europe of his personal work on the Five Elements: Paris Photo, Galerie 213 (Paris), Festival of Naarden (Netherland). In 2004 his book “Five” was published by STEIDL.

For the past five years, Patrick James Michel has been working on a new book « Lands of resonance » with animists, shamans, Nagas sadhus, and Buddhist monks.

Patrick James Michel has traveled the world to study human tribes and the energy that connects them to their environment. His photography is a testimonial of this vital energy that flows among Humans and Nature.

The artist has shot Native Americans, Surfers, Cowboys, Shamans, His own sense of energy and connection have enabled him to engage at a deeper level with individuals and tribes usually inaccessible. The photographer celebrates that intrinsic interconnection that he calls resonance in his mages.

Patrick James Michel has worked with major companies, concentrating on the worlds of fashion, surfers, and cowboys. He has had several exhibitions in Europe and his work in fashion has led him to collaborate with magazines such as Tank, Wad, Jalouse, G.Q, Milk.

In 2005 he had a published book by Steidl: Five. He has been nominated several times as art-director-photographer for the French and European Art Director Club.
