It presents over 200 portraits which are the testimony of the immense variety of encounters that characterized Gastel's long career.

A collective representation of personalities from the world of culture, design, art, fashion, entertainment and politics. A labyrinth of faces, poses and dreams that take on the features of Barack Obama , Marco Pannella , Ettore Sottsass , Germano Celant , but also of Vasco Rossi , Franca Sozzani , Monica Bellucc i andBebe Vio just to name a few. Eighty images from the series of the black hills, an investigation on the margins of the spirituality of the soul, concludes the exhibition.

The jewels of the imagination, created in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Photography, presents as a precious setting, to use a term derived from goldsmithing, one of the Mrst works that gave Giovanni Gastel international fame. There are 20 images of a larger project commissioned to the author by Daniel Swarovski Corporation in 1991 for the book of the same name, translated into four languages, and the exhibition of 20th century jewels, both curated by Deanna Farneti Cera.

The dialogue between the world of objects and that of the human figure, irony, the body and the mask, disguise and metamorphosis then emerge as central themes of the artist's artistic research, in the fantastic and imaginary reinterpretation of the jewels, in shots from which all his creative vein emerges.
