The Selects Gallery is pleased to present “New York City Ballet” an exhibition featuring photographs shot at the New York City Ballet in 2013 by Richard Phibbs in partnership with Trunk Archive Collection.
In this series, Phibbs celebrates the extraordinary talent of their star dancers Ashley Bouder, principal dancer with New York City Ballet since 2005 and Gonzalo Garcia, who joined New York City Ballet in October 2007 as a principal dancer. Focusing on their legs and bodies, Phibbs honors their extraordinary performance as dancers through speed, technique and grace.
Through his unique usage of light and composition, Phibbs brings a feeling of grandeur, a theme very dear to the artist who is always on a search to connect us to the beauty and elegance that surrounds us.
