Our Notes:

Patric Shaw is a British photographer and painter whose work moves fluidly between fashion, portraiture, and a more
intimate, almost diaristic way of looking at people. Trained originally in fine art and painting, he brings a draftsman’s sensitivity to line, tone, and composition into his photographs, favoring natural light, quiet gestures, and uncluttered frames that give his subjects room to breathe. His images often feel both casually observed and carefully composed: there is a sense of ease and spontaneity on the surface, underpinned by a strong formal structure and a painterly awareness of color and texture. Across editorials, personal projects, and his books, Shaw’s photography builds a world that is understated yet emotionally resonant, where style never overwhelms the human presence at the center of the picture.
